Total Carbon is a critical consideration in our engineering approach, emphasizing the need to minimize both operational and embodied carbon emissions in MEP systems. Operational carbon refers to the greenhouse gas emissions produced during the operation of MEP equipment, while embodied carbon encompasses the emissions generated during the manufacturing and installation of these systems.

With the increasing efficiency and electrification of our systems, and the concurrent reduction in carbon intensity of electricity, embodied carbon can now constitute up to half of the total carbon emissions. Therefore, our Total Carbon approach not only complements electrification but also builds upon it, ensuring a comprehensive strategy for reducing overall carbon impact. By focusing on both aspects, we help our clients achieve substantial and sustainable decarbonization goals.
