The development of the new Police Hospital is derived from the Ministry of Interior’s intent to create a high-class and well-equipped healthcare facility for civil and law enforcement members (active and retired), in addition to their families. The 500-bed hospital will include specialty clinics, different wards, and supporting areas.

The proposed new hospital is planned and designed with an eye on the “”Future Hospital Design,”” and will fulfill various medical needs and modes of treatment. The hospital will include diagnostic and treatment functions, such as clinical laboratories, imaging, emergency rooms, and surgery. It will also include hospitality functions such as food service and housekeeping, and the fundamental outpatient and inpatient care and bed-related function.

Two annex buildings will be developed: Annex 1 will include an auditorium, cafeteria, lecture halls, and shops, and Annex 2 will comprise a car park for 4,800 cars. As part of this effort, Vanderweil provided master planning, conceptual design, and design development for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and data / communications along with LEED services.
