Gillette Stadium is a landmark 1.7-million-square-foot sports and entertainment venue that serves as the home of the NFL’s New England Patriots and Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution. Completed through a fast-track design-build delivery and had their first regular season game on September 9th, 2002.

Vanderweil Engineers provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety engineering for the facility. The stadium includes more than 750,000 square feet of conditioned interior space encompassing luxury clubs, 80 private suites, team training and locker facilities, concessions, executive offices, and support areas. Major infrastructure systems feature a central plant delivering over 1,600 tons of cooling and nearly 40 million BTU/hr of heating, along with advanced HVAC systems serving clubs, suites, offices, and public spaces.

Vanderweil also designed sophisticated smoke control, fire protection, and emergency power systems, as well as nearly 10 MW of electrical distribution. Innovative water conservation strategies, including a gray water reclamation system and 500,000-gallon storage capacity, significantly reduce potable water consumption. The result is a resilient, high-performance venue that remains one of the premier sports and entertainment destinations in New England.
