Hollows Residence Halls consist of two new six-story residence hall buildings containing 506 beds over 263,000 sf. There is a with a connector bridge spanning a portal at the second and third floors.

The program includes four-bedroom suite layouts with two bathrooms and a common living and kitchen area in each suite. Common areas include lounges and study rooms. Support spaces include laundry rooms, a loading dock, storage, vending, housekeeping, and trash and recycle rooms.

HVAC systems utilize five interior VAV air handling units totaling 190,000 cfm plus campus chilled water and hot water. Dual water-to-water heat exchangers in each building provide domestic hot water. Two exterior pad-mounted transformers (one for normal power, and one for standby emergency power) serve each building. The buildings are fully sprinklered.

Vanderweil also provided tel/data, security, and audio-visual systems design. The project was designed to achieve LEED Gold.
