Vanderweil provided commissioning engineering consultant services for the Boston College McMullen Museum of Art and University Conference Center.
2101 Commonwealth Avenue is an existing, four-story (including the basement level), 23,000 sf building located on the Brighton Campus of Boston College. Since being acquired by Boston College in 2004, the building has been lightly used for conference and administrative space.
This project consists of a complete ‘gut’ interior renovation as well a 6,000 square-foot building addition to support the relocated McMullen Museum of Art & University Conference Center. The renovation and addition will include:
- Reprogramming and repartitioning throughout
- Full replacement of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems (plant and terminal equipment and distribution)
- Installation of a new fire alarm system, sprinkler system, and emergency generator
- Recipient of the Education Facilities Design, Award, 2019
