Avantor: Office and Laboratory Project

Avantor, a global provider of mission-critical products and services to the life sciences industry, expanded and relocated its Bridgewater, New Jersey Innovation Center to create a larger, technology-driven environment for research and collaboration. The new facility doubles the size of the previous location’s lab and pilot space, strengthening Avantor’s ability to partner with customers in developing and optimizing advanced solutions.

The program includes 24,800 sf of office space and 34,000 sf of laboratory space, featuring a 10,000 sf cleanroom designed to support high-performance research activities. The facility accommodates a broad range of modalities, including monoclonal antibodies, cell and gene therapy, and mRNA, enabling flexible, cutting-edge development across multiple platforms.

Vanderweil provided MEP/FP engineering as well as technology, audiovisual, and security design services for the project. The integrated systems support a high level of performance, reliability, and adaptability throughout the facility. The project achieved LEED Silver certification, reflecting commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and a high-quality research environment.
