Azenta, Genewiz Lab Renovation

Azenta relocated its labs from Cambridge, MA to a new two-story building located at 1432 Main Street in Waltham, MA. The first floor of this new facility was fit-out to support Azenta’s research and administrative needs, and the building infrastructure systems were upgraded in tandem.

Vanderweil provided MEP/FP engineering services for this project to fit-out 20,000 sf of lab space and 5,000 sf of administrative and general support areas. The labs feature equipment for genetic analysis, sequencer, synthesizer, plasmid prep, and oligo synthesis. The building was also fitted with a pH neutralization system. Utility upgrades also included a new air handling unit, exhaust fans, chemical waste treatment, and an emergency generator.
