This initiative comprised of a range of critical renovation and expansion projects across the historic Omni Homestead Resort. Vanderweil provided MEP/FP engineering services for multiple infrastructure, reconcept, and new build projects, which each required their own schedules and coordination with multiple contractors.
A wedding pavilion, an adult pool, a building for staff housing, and a golf cart storage warehouse were all built new from the ground-up. Other reconcept projects included a new restaurant in the existing casino building and expansion of the lobby bar.
Both the existing Martha’s Market and Washington Library were upgraded, as well as renovating and adding a new bar to the Dinner Theater space.
Renovations to the guest rooms and public spaces included a new golf pro shop, guest room plumbing fixture upgrades, meeting room lighting upgrades, and a new permanent buffet to the existing dining hall.
Infrastructure projects were completed throughout the resort complex, including a cooling tower replacement to the existing CEP, a new indoor pool dehumidification system, numerous MEP upgrades to existing kitchen areas, hotel room HVAC unit replacements, and six new steam to hot water heat exchanger systems for domestic water around the existing facility.
The Omni Homestead Resort was honored with the Best Historic Hotel Award (over 400 guestrooms) from the Historic Hotels of America organization.
