New 243,000 sf United States Courthouse that includes eight courtrooms, 11 judges’ chambers, court support spaces, U.S. Marshals’ space, U.S. Attorney’s offices, and jury assembly. The project was designed to meet the federal government’s energy, sustainability and resiliency targets.
Notable design elements include a green roof, central UPS, high efficiency cooling and heating plants, energy recovery units, high performance lighting and high-rise life safety systems.
The project has been developed and documented using BIM during design through construction. COBie information provided by the A/E to assist the GSA with facility operations and maintenance.
The new courthouse meets the federal government’s ten-year security and expansion requirements for courts and court-related agencies. The project is targeting LEED Gold and SITES Silver certifications.
