A new four-building complex was renovated to house the Tanglewood Music Center and Learning Institute (TMC/TLI), along with Ozawa Gate buildings that are designed to expand restrooms, concessions and box office functions.
Vanderweil provided MEP/FP engineering, IT, and security design services for the renovation.
The TMC/TLI is a cluster of four small-scale buildings totaling 24,000 sf. Program in the main building includes food prep/finishing kitchen and servery, a 150-seat dining area, restrooms, catering and storage, a green room, and a multi-use studio accommodating 25 players and 200 seats. Each of the two smaller studio buildings is connected to the larger via an outdoor covered walkway. Studio 1 accommodates eight players and 35 seats, and Studio 2 accommodates 20 players and 60 seats. Audiovisual provisions are designed to accommodate recording, production, and editing.
The Ozawa Gate buildings consist of a standalone box office, first aid complex, men’s and women’s bathroom facilities, and a concessions/storage building with outdoor dining.
