Mechanical EngineeringWe strive to create sustainable HVAC solutions, and in so doing have advanced the state of the art with innovative applications of UFAD, radiant systems, natural ventilation, solar thermal, integrated controls, and other approaches. Our modeling group creates thermal and energy models of projects which help inform our designs. Mechanical engineering at Vanderweil focuses both on creating healthy and comfortable indoor environments for people, as well as on the generation and distribution of energy. In both these areas we apply common mechanical engineering principals, derived from the laws of thermodynamics, and we strive to find the most practical and sustainable design approaches. Within this fabric we design HVAC systems and controls for all building types, and central utility and cogeneration plants and thermal distribution systems as described in the “Power Group” section of the website.
