Electrical EngineeringOur engineering goal is to conceptualize and develop safe, reliable and effective electrical systems, with flexibility for growth and change - systems that can sustainably support the life and usefulness of buildings long into the future. Our design of lighting systems and their controls is integrated with the architectural designs to enhance natural lighting, which, in addition to our electrical distribution design, contributes significantly to reducing the building’s carbon footprint. Electricity is the key to efficient and productive occupancy of any building. It powers the HVAC for thermal comfort, the lighting for visual comfort, and it powers the computers, the elevators, and all the other equipment upon which we depend. It is the basis for the building’s life safety systems, including fire alarm, emergency lighting and smoke exhaust.
