This 628,000 sf world class health science complex integrates patient care, medical education, and biomedical research into one location.

The school is adjacent and physically connected to the Buffalo General Hospital and several other healthcare facilities that play a central role in serving the surrounding Erie County community.

The lower levels of the new building are home to a range of multi-purpose educational and community spaces, which are utilized for the medical school and community outreach programs. Three levels of core modular research facility and 150,000 sf of lab space are positioned above these public-facing areas of the medical school.

The facility solidifies SUNY Buffalo’s role as a leading healthcare education institution with specialized teaching facilities. These include an expanded patient care simulation center and a surgical simulation center where medical students can conduct surgeries in a simulated operating room.

A robotic surgery simulation center provides training for students and physicians in remote control surgical technologies.
