Boston University is a leading private research institution. Its new four-story, 75,000 sf theater arts building includes a black-box performance space, a sound/lighting lab, a costume shop, a lounge, classrooms, faculty offices, dressing rooms, a green room, and associated spaces, plus two stories of underground parking.

Vanderweil provided MEP/FP engineering, technology design, security, and LEED administration for the project. Lean processes were used to accommodate the aggressive design and construction schedule. This project achieved LEED Silver.

The project is a recipient of the AEI Professional Project Awards for Best Overall Project Under $100M and Architectural Engineering Integration; the AIA New England Honor Award; and the BSA Honor Award for Design Excellence.
