Air Products & Chemicals serves the global marketplace with gases and chemicals for industrial use, and its new 670,000 sf campus headquarters is designed to reflect the safety, speed, simplicity, and self-confidence that has driven the company for more than 75 years.

The Vanderweil team provided MEP/FP engineering services for this new headquarters campus, which is comprised of three separate facilities: a ten-story, 530,000 sf administrative building, a 125,000 sf R&D building, and a five-story parking structure with 2,000 spaces. On top of the garage is the company’s wellness center—replete with an outdoor walking track and PV arrays to generate power for the campus. The administration building includes a conference center, 250-seat auditorium, and a kitchen/cafeteria. A main circulation space on each floor with connecting stairs encourages collaboration.

Vanderweil’s design efforts included the medium-voltage electrical service and standby power generation for the campus. HVAC systems consist of custom air-handling units with heat recovery wheels, condensing boiler plants, and a heat-shift chiller.
